Attorney Roy Hodge

HODGE, Attorney Roy Allen- Age 59, of Durand, died Saturday September 21, 2019. Funeral services will be held 12PM Wednesday, September 25, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 6PM-8PM Tuesday and 10AM until time of service on Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the North End Soup Kitchen. Roy was born July 1, 1960 in Flint, the son of Benjamin Horace and Janet Beverly (Lovegrove) Hodge. He married Suzette Lourenco in Goa, India on November 24, 2004. Roy loved spending time with his family, taking care of his home and yard. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Ozarks in Clarksville AR in 1982 and he also earned a degree of Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing in 2000. Roy was an Attorney for the Genesee and Shiawassee County areas for many years. He took pride in his work as an attorney and tax preparer and making sure his clients were well taken care of. Surviving are: wife Suzette Hodge of Durand; daughter, Jessica (Brandon) Chandler of AR; grandchildren, Aubrey and Gavin Chandler of AR; mother Janet Hodge of Swartz Creek; sister, Tina (John) Patton of AR; brother, Jeff Hodge of Swartz Creek and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Hodge and brother Sgt. First Class, Benjamin T. Hodge. Tributes may be posted at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
