Arthur "Aj" Smith

Smith, Arthur "John" "AJ" - Age 78, of Lennon, passed away October 28, 2020 after a long battle with prostate cancer. Due to Covid a memorial service will be held June 19, 2021. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you do a kind act for someone else. John graduated from Whittemore-Prescott. He was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt and fish. John found the love of his life, Kathy who he spent 52 years with. He retired from General Motors Truck and Bus. John was very active in the community. He was an assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 35 and Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 33. John was awarded the Silver Beaver through Boy Scouts and the Vigil honor through Order of the Arrow. He was also active in Girl Scouts with his wife as a member of Fairwinds Girl Scout Council helping in many ways including day camp and Girl Scout cookies. John attended United Methodist Church of Swartz Creek and helped with "The Food Basket". He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Jennifer and Jason; grandchildren, Bill, Troy, and Staci; great-grandson, Sebastian; brothers, Sandy, Al (Carol); many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
