Arthur A. (Art) Kaczmarek, formerly of Beverly Hills, MI, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2016 in Flint, MI. Art was born in Detroit, MI on September 25, 1919 and was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Harriet, and his daughter Donna (Ritchie). He is survived by his sister Irene Proszek (Hank) and brother Norbert (Carolyn); his son Jeff (Vida) and daughter Carol Crawford (John) and son-in-law Scott Ritchie; five grandchildren (Christian, Tesia, Lindsay, Sarah and Emma) and four great-grandchildren. Art was proud of his Polish heritage and a veteran of World War II serving with the Army's 104th Timberwolf Division in Europe. He loved music and played the trombone in the U.S. Army Band. Art was a long time employee of General Motors Corporation and an active and devoted member of his church, First Baptist of Birmingham, MI. A memorial service in celebration of Art's life is planned for Friday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Birmingham, 300 Willits St., Birmingham, MI with inurnment at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
