Arthur John Amidon

AMIDON, Arthur John - age 61, of Flint, died Friday, August 22, 2008 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Arthur J. Amidon Memorial Fund. John was born August 12, 1947 in Flint, the son of Ira AJ and Frances Grace (Partridge) Amidon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard. John retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker in 1996. He was also a member of VFW Post #4087. Surviving are: granddaughter, Denise Baxter; father, Ira AJ Amidon; sister, Lisabeth Christensen; brother, Charlie Amidon. He was preceded in death by: his mother.
