JEWELL, Arlene Dorothy - age 87, of Swartz Creek, transitioned from this earth to Heaven, March 18, 2024. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will be held from 3-4 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be held 11 AM Friday, March 22 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Contributions may be made to ABWE (abwe.org) or Calvary Baptist Church in Gaines. Arlene was born June 9, 1936 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Norwood Andrew and Leavinia Mary (McLewee) Heselbach. She married Clare R. Jewell, Jr. on April 2, 1955. Arlene retired from Swartz Creek Community Schools. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gaines. Her favorite bible verse was the 23rd Psalm. Arlene loved her family with all her heart. She was a very giving hostess whenever family or friends came to her home. She loved the fun, games, and laughter of these gatherings. Her family meant the world to her, and she meant the world to her family. Arlene loved her husband, Clare, and her four sons deeply. Surviving are: four sons, Norwood H. (Julie) Jewell of Swartz Creek, Clare R. (Donna) Jewell, III of Salem, OR, David C. (Kathy) Jewell of Flushing, and Michael P. (Jessica) Jewell of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Derik (Katie) Jewell, Justin (Caitlin) Jewell, Derek (Danielle) Justice, Jordan (Austin) Andreski, Natalie Neiswender, Nicole (Andrew) Reichard, Erica (Aaron) Cumings, Deanna Jewell, Andrea Jewell, Jenelle Jewell, Victoria Jewell, Anjelena Jewell, Andrew (Nikole) Kujat, Rebekah Winkle, Jessica Kujat, Joe Kujat, Jacob (Kristy) Jewell, Olivia (Jonah) Steenbergh, and Alexis (Will) Lynn; 25 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Jewell; two sisters-in-law, Lee Farrow and June Heselbach; five nephews, Brian Heselbach, Kevin Heselbach, John Barney, Matt Barney, and John Jewell, one niece, Valerie (Jewell) Genovesi, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Heselbach, her brother-in-law John Barney, and her sister-in-law Janice (Jewell) Barney. Tributes may be shared at
