Ardith D. Putnam

PUTNAM, Ardith D. - Age 86, of Flint Township, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 24 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Pastor Tom Settlemyre officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Christian Broadcasting Network. Mrs. Putnam was born October 7, 1920 in Three Rivers, MI, the daughter of Levi and Edna (Reed) Vergason. She graduated from Central High School in 1940 and received her Nurse's Training at McLaren and Hurley Hospitals. She was married to Henry B. Putnam October 28, 1974 in Flint, and he preceded her in death February 26, 1990. Mrs. Putnam was employed as a nurse at Hurley Hospital for 17 years until her retirement. She was a Flint resident most of her life and she was a member of West Court Street Church of God. She is survived by her son, Bruce Birdell Putnam and wife Mary Putnam of Perry; brothers, Robert and wife Lee Vergason of Lansing, John and wife Linda Rittenhouse of California; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Helen (Vergason) Morrison, Viola (Vergason) Markham; and one brother, Donald Cole.
