HYDE,  Ardith Gayle, age 91 died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Nottingham Place in Grand Blanc.  Mrs. Hyde was born on June 13, 1914 in Clio, the daughter of Thomas and Elsie (Walker) Franklin.  She has  been resident of Flint and Grand Blanc most of her life. Mrs. Hyde graduated from Clio High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State Normal (now Eastern Michigan University) in Ypsilanti. She and Luman Howard  Hyde were married in Flint and he preceded her in death.  She was a school teacher, and started her careen teaching in a one room school in the Clio area.  Mrs. Hyde retired from the Mt. Morris Schools after many years of teaching. She was a life member of the Michigan Educational Association and the National Educational Association.  Surviving are 2 daughters;  Gayle Ann Novak and husband Donald of Lapeer, Daryl Peltier and husband Craig of Midland and a son Gary Hyde and wife Evelyn of Clio.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a brother, Park Franklin in Florida and 2 sister-in-laws; Helen and husband Bliss Baker in St. Petersburg, Florida and Zelma and husband Ed Fortini also of St. Petersburg.  Mrs. Hyde was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Thomas Hyde, a brother, George Franklin, a sister, Beth Fleetwood and longtime companion, Arthur Letts. Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service is being planned by her family for a later date this summer.
