ASSIS, Antoinette G., age 72, of Burton, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Brian's House Hospice, Davison following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Our Lady Of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Rd., Flint with Fr. Jihad Younes celebrant. Entombment in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 1-8PM  Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Antoinette was born June 3, 1936 in Beirut, Lebanon to the late George and Latifeh Haddy. In 1988, Antoinette and her son, Sam Haddy, immigrated to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Later that year, Antoinette moved to Burton, Michigan where she lived the last 20 years. She spent most of her time being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Antoinette is survived by her three children, Joseph Haddy (wife, Rita) of Florida, Sam Haddy, and Collette El Kassis (husband, Youssef)of Burton, Michigan. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Nicholas and Isaac Haddy, Reine, Eddy, and Diana El Kassis. She is further survived by five sisters, Zihreh Shedid of Brazil, Victoria Shaheen and Mounifah Abou Assaly (husband, Elias) of Lebanon, Souham Nassif (husband, Elias)and Hiyam Freiha (husband, Alfred) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three brothers, John Haddy (wife, Nada) of Riverside, CA, Michael Haddy (wife, Amal) and Eid Haddy (wife, Nazek) of Lebanon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Salim Assis and her sister, Renee Nemer.
