Anthony William RUST

August 28, 1948 — January 13, 2011

RUST, Anthony William "Tony" "Big Duck" -- Age 62, of Swartz Creek, was called home to Heaven on January 13, 2011 with his loving wife and daughters by his side. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, January 17 at St. Mary's Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek, Fr. William Wegher celebrant. Interment is at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Sunday with a rosary to be prayed at 6 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation Monday will be from 9-11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family. He was born August 28, 1948 in Flint the son of William and Sophie (Bonk) Rust. Tony graduated from St. Michaels Catholic High School, Flint in 1967. He married Joyce T. Wangler on August 2, 1969 at St. Mary's Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He had worked at V-8 Engine Plant and Flint Engine South as a fork lift truck driver in the materials department retiring in 2006 with 37 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 659. He enjoyed retirement spending time in his pole barn, watching NASCAR, playing on the computer, and processing deer. He enjoyed most of all his family and especially being PaPa to his loving grandchildren. Tony is survived by: the love of his life Joyce and his angels on earth Marcia (Joe Worley), Maria (Ron Dixon), and Melissa (Martin Wolfe); grandchildren, Brittanie, Marissa, Anthony, Janis, Ronnie, Beth and Joey; faithful buddies, Lucky, Jake, Kodie, Peanut and Sugar; Godmother, Mary Bosak; sisters and brothers, Joanne (George) Dobromil, Margie (Jerry) Conley, Caroline (Art) Thomas; Raymond (Julie), and Dan (Jeanette); many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many, many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a world full of friends. He was preceded in death by his angel in heaven, infant daughter Janice, parents, two sisters, and one brother. In honor of Tony's wishes, his eyes have been donated to the Mid-West Eye Bank so someone else may see the world through his eyes.
