McDONALD, Anthony "Tony" Joseph - Age 56, of Burton, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Services will be held 11AM Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene, 7168 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating. Visitation will be held 10AM until time of service at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek Library. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Tony was born in Flint, the son of the late Clayton Franklin "Frank" and MaryEllen (Gire) McDonald. Tony was an avid reader and was a published author of a children's book. He enjoyed painting, music, movies and loved history. Tony volunteered and later worked for the Swartz Creek Library for many years. Surviving are: brother, David McDonald of Goodrich; uncles and aunts, Gerard and Jackie Wrice of Swartz Creek, Kirk and Mary Lou Powers of Highland; Bob and Fran Jelinek of Suttons Bay, Leona McDonald of AZ. He is also survived by many cousins including, Kellie Wrice, Mike Mansberry, Crystal Mansberry, Tami Henry and good friends, Becky VanEvery, Ivan Smith and Crystie McDonald.
