GALLAGHER, Annie Laurie - Age 91, of Fenton, died Sunday, January 10, 2021. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton (A live stream of the Mass is available on Annie Laurie's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com <http://www.sharpfuneralhomes.com>). Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the church Friday from 4-8 PM where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM with mass following at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Mount Mary University, 2900 Menomonee River Parkway, Milwaukee, WI 53222 in Annie Laurie (Bansley) Gallagher’s name.
Annie Laurie was born November 21, 1929 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of James and Anne (O'Rourke) Bansley. She was a graduate of Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. She married John J. "Jack" Gallagher, December 28, 1954 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death December 8, 2003.
Annie Laurie retired from St. John the Evangelist Catholic School having taught 17 years, leaving a legacy of kindness, faith and excellence. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish, where she sang in the choir, participated in Bible Study and was a volunteer in the Befriender program. She was also a member of several fraternal organizations including The Red Hat Society and Entre-Nous. She was a proud volunteer for the Fenton Township Election Board for many years. All 7 Gallagher children graduated from Lake Fenton HS. Annie Laurie attended every event her children participated in from Sports to Drama. She was a true Lake Fenton Blue Devil Booster! She was a lifetime fan of the Chicago Bears, Big 10 Football and never missed March Madness! As a young girl her Mother took her to a Chicago White Sox game to see Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig play. She enjoyed knitting and was a prolific reader. Her favorite postscript was, “Consider yourself hugged”!
Surviving are: 7 children, John J. (Marla) Gallagher Jr. of Kirkland, WA, Lauriann (Terry) Powers of Grand Rapids, Jim (Danielle) Gallagher of Lafayette, CA, Tom (Molly Jean) Gallagher of Ann Arbor, Dan (Paulette) Gallagher of Jackson, Mike (Cathy) Gallagher of Grand Rapids, and Matt (Ranae) Gallagher of Grand Blanc; 16 grandchildren, Suzanne (Cyrus III) Darling, Jack Gallagher III, Meghan Powers, Tom (Ann Marie) Powers, Joe (Laura) Powers, Claire Gallagher, Tommy Gallagher, Elle Gallagher, Danielle Gallagher, Kaylee Kellogg, Clay (Jamie) Kellogg, Hannah Gallagher, Danny Gallagher, Erin Gallagher, Codi Gallagher, and Maci Gallagher; she was “GG” to 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Jim Bansley of Chicago, IL and Mike (Diane) Bansley of Evanston, IL; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bansley of Chicago, IL; and dozens nieces and nephews.
