Anne Lauraine Dale, 81, died August 9, in Grand Blanc. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 19 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Goodrich, Michigan.  Visitation will commence at 10 a.m., 1 hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center,  6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc.

Lauraine was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island April 5, 1941, the daughter of Annette (St Hilaire) and William Thornton. She graduated from St. Jean Baptiste Catholic High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island where she excelled in her subjects, becoming fluent in French.  Lauraine moved to the Flint area in 1961 where she began raising her family, later moving to Swartz Creek, eventually settling in Grand Blanc. Lauraine started in customer service at the J.N. Fauver Company in 1976. After being promoted, she was proud of becoming the first female outside salesperson in company history. Lauraine was again promoted to the Flint office manager position, later heading human resources at the main office in Madison Heights. She was a hydraulic component expert, and a familiar face in Flint’s manufacturing community.  Lauraine married Charles (Chuck) Dale on March 1, 1997.  She and Chuck enjoyed travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Lauraine is survived by three children, Joanne (Frank) Salvati, Linda (Doug) Graham, Jeff Warren; grandchildren, Karri (Mario) Guerena, Samantha Salvati, Alecia (David) Henderson, Neil Graham, Laura Graham; great-grandchildren, Levi, Liam, Lucas and Lilah; brother William (Marilyn) Thornton Jr., John (Gale) Thornton; brother-in-law Ron Demeulenaere; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sandy and Charlie Vickerman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Dale;  and sisters, Sandra Smith, Frances Whitehead, and Theresa Demeulenaere.
