Anne Sovis

Sovis, Anne - Age 93, of Swartz Creek, died December 31, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels CAtholic Church. Anne was born March 20, 1924 in Owosso, the daughter of Frank and Nettie (Sedlar) Mrkva. She married Anthony Sovis in Ardmore, OK. on May 15, 1943. Anne loved to polka, travel with her husband, Tony in their motorhome for 17 years. She loved the beach and going to Port Huron to watch the ships go by. For many years she enjoyed the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk. She was a member of the CSA ZCBJ Hall in Owosso, MI. Anne was a long time member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek, where she enjoyed the 50 and Over Group, Altar Society, as well as serving as their secretary at one time. Anne was an avid walker for many years. She still enjoyed working in her flower garden. She also liked playing bingo and gambling at casinos on senior trips. Anne is survived by her children, Elaine (Gary) Casterline, Tom (Cindy Fox) Sovis, Andrew Sovis; grandchildren, Tim Mattson, Heather (Sam Irwin) Casterline, Jason (Caitlin) Casterline, Alexandra (Steven) Rothenberg, Amanda (Mike) Rancour; 4 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Conrad Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony; daughters, Carol Morelli, Nancy Schmidt; grandson, Chris Mattson.
