Anna Wharton

WHARTON, Anna E. - Age 79, of Flint, died July 19, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at West Court Street Church of God, 2920 W. Court St., Flint. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10 AM until the time of service Tuesday at church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Mission. Anna was born March 9, 1935 in Alpha, KY, the daughter of Ben and Rintha (Guffey) Owens. She was married to Joseph A. Wharton on December 24, 1954; he preceded her in death on March 13, 1998. Anna was a longtime member of West Court Street Church of God, where she was active in many things, especially the living Nativity Scene. Surviving are: children, Joseph D. "Danny" (DeNaze) Wharton, Patricia (Frank) LaSota; grandchildren, Michael, Allison, Elena, Claire and Rebekkah; great-grandchildren, Reagan and Jake; sister, Wanda (Robert) Stanley; many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
