Anna Mae MOREY

MOREY, Anna Mae - Age 88, of Linden, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Rev. Donald Neuville will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Linden Library or Linden Historical Society. Anna was born September 17, 1922 in Detroit, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Schweitzer) Thompson. She married Alton Morey on July 26, 1946 in Byron; he preceded her in death on November 6, 1992. Mrs. Morey had been a resident of Linden since 1947. She worked at Murphy's, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Morey was active in the Linden community. She was a charter member of the Linden Historical Society and Linden Library Board, served on the Planning Commission for many years, volunteered at the Linden Museum and was a member of the Loose Senior Center. She enjoyed golf and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: children, Michael (Shirley) Morey of Fenton, Susan Morey of Flint Twp., Lynn (David) Smith of Linden; grandchildren, Andrea Morey, Brian Morey, Jeff (Amy) Matney, Eric (Crystal) Matney; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Gallagher and Helen (Clark) Sill; many nieces and nephews.
