MAXWELL, Ann Bremner Age 89 of Flint/Linden, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Oak Crest Manors of Jenison, MI where she had been a resident for five years. Funeral services will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden on Saturday, May 16 at 1pm, with visitation from 11am 1pm. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Society. Born April 6, 1920 in Dundee, Scotland to John and Mary Bremner. Raised and educated in Dundee; then immigrated to the U.S. in 1946 to marry William M. Maxwell, a former RCAF officer, whom she had met during WWII. Mrs. Maxwell lived in Flint and Linden for 58 years. She was a Past President of the Optimisses and a former member of the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club. Aside from her family, Ann loved to dance, read and spend every day possible at the game of golf, which found her and Bill becoming Life members of the Spring Meadows Country Club. Predeceased by her husband, Bill in 1996 and her parents, sister and brother; she leaves her son, W. Ross Maxwell of Boyne City, MI; daughter, Patricia (Roger) Finlan of Hudsonville, MI; 3 grandchildren, Kristen (Christopher) Jack, Erinn Finlan (Jonathan Hitt) and Ross (Brooke) Finlan; 3 great-grandchildren, Hannah Jack and Ava and Jack Finlan-Hitt; 2 cousins in Dundee, Scotland, Mabel (Stuart) McGowan and Gordon Wilson; numerous family members in Scotland, England, British Columbia and Ontario, Canada.
