Ann Mae Hazen Knight

Ann Mae Knight of Swartz Creek passed away on December 3, 2021 at 93 years of age.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 19, 1928 to Archie and Agnes (Kapernik) Hazen.   She graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit in 1946.  She married her husband Lane Knight on February 1, 1947.  She worked at Ford Motor and General Motors proving grounds for 7 years each company.  She and her husband also were a management team for a hotel chain located in Texas and California.

They retired and moved to Swartz Creek in 1995.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Swartz Creek and a member of the Linden Eastern Star.  She lived at Mari-Dan Miller Senior high rise located in Swartz Creek for many years, volunteering at the Swartz Creek Senior Center for 9 years in various capacities.  She loved to crochet and knit and donated many creations to various non-profit organizations, she also loved water color painting.

She is survived by her sons Wayne (Nancy) Knight of Traverse City, MI, and Michael (Sherry) Knight of Flower Mound Texas.  Her granddaughter Tracy (Jeff) Rimarcik and great-grandsons Luke and Logan of Linden, MI., and grandson Christopher Knight of Austin, Texas.  She is also survived by her brother Roy (Phyllis) Hazen, and sister Mary Sparks.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lane of 56 years, daughter Sherry Ann Knight, brother Charles Hazen and wife Anne, sister Lucille Hazen Grozden and husband Gus, and her parents Archie and Agnes Hazen.

There will be no services scheduled at this time, but a memorial service will be held next summer for family and friends.
