Ann Adams

Adams, Ann (Brandt) 81, of Fenton Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday May 21, 2015 from a very short but determined fight with cancer. Ann was born in Jackson, Michigan on August 27, 1933 the daughter of Michael and Mary (Zyber) Potoczny. Ann graduated as a registered nurse from Hurley School of Nursing in Flint and continued her studies University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Ann spent her life caring for the sick as a nurse, college instructor, and managing hospice care for families in their homes prior to her retirement from Hurley. Ann became a talented artist in her retirement, an accomplished gardener, excelled at creating northern Michigan crafts and cards, was a wonderful cook, restored historical buildings, and loved spending time at both her homes on Lake Fenton and Higgins Lake. Ann's leaves a legacy of her love of family, friends, of community activism, and her love of animals. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 PM on Monday May 25, and from 2-4 PM and 5-9 PM on Tuesday May 26 at Sharp Funeral Home 1000 W. Silver Lake Road, Fenton MI. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday May 27 at 10:00AM at St. John Catholic Church in Fenton with Father Roy Horning officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Surviving are husband Ed of Fenton Township, sons Ben of Miami, FL and Arthur of Chicago, IL, stepson Michael of Reno, NV, and step daughters Michelle of Holly, MI and Marianne of Adelaide, Australia. Sister Wanda Yancho of Flushing, brother John (Joann) Potoczny of Lansing, and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish her memory forever. Ann was preceded in death by her mother and father. Contributions can be made in Ann's memory to Last Chance Animal Rescue in Swartz Creek.
