Angeline "Angie" Josephine Ashford, age 86, of Lennon, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 18, 2024 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, with Fr. Louis Ekka as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, November 19, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. On Sunday evening the family and parish will gather to pray the rosary at 7:00 PM. Monday morning Angie will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Angie was born on May 8, 1938 in Lennon the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Maybik) Cupal. She graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in Owosso, class of 1956. Angie worked from home raising her four children. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Angie was a devoted Catholic and longtime parishioner at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. In her free time, she enjoyed arts, gardening flowers and working outside in the yard.
She is survived by her two children, Bob (Cheryl) Ashford and Debra (Jeff) Treiger; eight grandchildren, Justin Taylor and fiancée, Natalie, Lindsay Taylor, Lauryn Taylor, Alex (Amanda) Henry, Kayla Henry and fiancé, Ed Petzold, Karina Henry; Aaron Treiger and Joslyn Treiger; and 11 great-grandchildren, Gabe, Lilly, Emma, Matthew, Natalie, James, Payton, Elijah, Lucas, Preston and Evan.
In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her son, Matthew; daughter, Christina Taylor; and three sisters, Joann Janca, Betty Moore and Helen Breiler. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
