MUNGONS, Andrew Bryan – age 93, of Pontiac MI, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton MI. Pastor Brad Hulcy will give the eulogy at the memorial service. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly MI. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, February 11 from 12-1 p.m. until the time of the service. Andrew will be deeply missed by family and friends. Andrew was born December 28, 1926, the son of Andrew and Barbara (Mair) Mungons. He was a 1944 graduate of Macomber Vocational Technical High School in Toledo, OH. Following high school graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Corporal during WWII in France and Germany. He married Eleanor Edith Lutz in Toledo in 1947 and she preceded him in death November 11, 2015. They met at Emanuel Baptist Church in Toledo where his father was the choir director. Andrew and Eleanor were married for 68 years. Andrew was a 1951 graduate of the University of Toledo (and member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity). Andrew spent most of his career in finance at various manufacturing companies in metro Detroit and metro Cleveland. In his early to mid-adult life Andrew enjoyed golfing and long-distance bicycling. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and residents of American House Oakland in Pontiac for their eight years of friendship and support of Andrew, and Hospice of Michigan for their two months of diligent support. Memorial gifts may be made to the American House Foundation. Andrew is survived by his children, Craig of Davisburg MI, Tom of Sylvan Lake MI; 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Lisa and Andrew; brother, Ralph of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.
