Andrew Hofbauer

HOFBAUER, Andrew - Age 89 of Swartz Creek, passed away August 9, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Monday, August 15, 2022 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Visitation will be held 2-5 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10AM until the time of Mass Monday at church. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church or Compassus Living Foundation. Andrew was born March 7, 1933 in Bacsalmas, Hungary the son of George and Mary (Schoblocher) Hofbauer; he came to the United States in May of 1956. He worked for a small die shop before he started at General Motors, where he remained for 38 years, until his retirement. Andrew enjoyed gardening, wood working and was a wonderful father. He is survived by his wife, Trudy; children, Anita (Ray) Rustem, Richard (Kathy) Hofbauer and Christine (Jochen) Brand; grandchildren, Amanda (Adam) Novosel, Danielle Rustem, Aaron Rustem, Samantha Sorkin and Benjamin Hofbauer. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Just and his son, Harry in 2009. The family wishes to thank the staff of Compassus Hospice for loving and compassionate care they provided.
