CARLSON, Andrew Rudolph 'Rudy' - Age 82, of Linden, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden with Rev. Daniel Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint with veterans honors performed under the auspices of Fenton VFW Curtis-Wolverton Post # 3243. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Fenton United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Rudy was born August 25, 1923 in Fulton, AL, the son of Carl W., Sr. and Eleanor (Lindsey) Carlson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Europe during World War II. Rudy married Vivian C. Davis on June 3, 1949 in Angola, IN and she preceded him in death on October 25, 1987. He then married Irma L. Brady on July 8, 1989 in Grand Blanc. Rudy retired from Buick Motor Company after 40 years of service in Waste Water Treatment. He was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer. Surviving are: wife, Irma of Linden; three sons, Richard Carlson and wife, Cathi of Madison, WI, David Carlson and wife, Nancy of Linden, Gary Carlson of Linden; grandson, Nicholas Andrew Carlson; four step-sons, Bill Brady and wife, Beth of Atlanta, GA, Mark Brady and wife, Susan of Greensboro, NC, Paul Brady and wife, Myra of Columbus, MS, Sam Brady and wife, Missy of Madison, MS; three brothers, Carl Carlson and wife, Marie of Thomasville, AL, Willard Carlson, Daphne, AL, Lavoid Carlson of Mobile, AL; sister, Ann Gaines and wife, Dave of Salem, IL; several nieces and nephews.
