Amos Martinoonian Sr

SROONIAN, Amos Martin - age 84, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, December 5, 2014 at his residence. Services will be held 1 PM Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Wednesday and 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Mr. Sroonian was born April 30, 1930 in Kaleva, MI, the son of George and Anna (Harju) Sroonian. He attended Flint Technical High School and married Janet Lee Williams in 1950 in Flint. Mr. Sroonian was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1952-1954. He retired from General Motors in Skilled Trades in 1988 after 39 years of service and was a member of U.A.W. Local 581. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a wonderful neighbor who had a heart of gold. Surviving are: wife, Janet Lee Sroonian of Swartz Creek; daughter, Sandra Lee and husband, Terry Boyd; two grandchildren, Corinne and Riley Boyd; two brothers, Jack and Pete Sroonian. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, David Mark Sroonian in 1981; Mary Sroonian; and brother, George Sroonian.
