Amna L. Wolfe -- of Swartz Creek, passed away February 26, 2022. Services will be held 1 PM Monday May 9, 2022 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.
Amna was born December 28, 1922 in Essex, Missouri. She was the daughter of John Tillman Wilson and Lillie (Snider) Wilson. The family moved to Flint, MI in 1928. She was a star athlete at Beecher High School and graduated in 1941. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Seaman First Class. On June 22,1946 she married Gerald A. Wolfe. After she got married she continued to play softball with the IMA Girls softball team that was inducted into the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1996. She participated in numerous adult education classes where she became a seamstress for friends and family, a cake decorator, a dog groomer, a quilter and a candy maker. She is survived by son David of Swartz Creek, son Dennis (Debbie) of Lake Isabella, daughter Lori (Bob) Atkinson of Macomb; three grandchildren Emma Atkinson, Shawn French and Mitch French; four great grandchildren; brother Vernon Wilson of Flint, sister-in-law Mary Wilson of Flushing, brother-in-law John Whitaker of Layton, Utah, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Gerald after 67 years of marriage, brothers Delmar, Calvin and Norman and sisters Dorothy and Joyce. A special thank you to Jackie and her team at Courtyard Manor in Swartz Creek and Grace Hospice of Flint for their compassionate care.
