Alvin Marshall

June 17, 1929 — February 5, 2020

MARSHALL, Alvin "Dale" --   Age 90, of Eustis Florida formerly of Genesee, died February 5, 2020. Cremation has taken place. Services will be held in Florida where he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Eloise. Dale was born June 17, 1929 in Genesee the son of Leo and Anna (Burgess) Marshall.  Dale  was a very strong, dedicated and devoted family man who truly had a servant’s heart! He consistently taught his children in very practical ways, often in the garage. He modeled for them, through his own blood, sweat and tears; to use their knowledge and common sense in problem solving and creating solutions, and to work with their own hands. One of the many blessings that came from his never-ending commitment to his kids was the privilege and pleasure of building their homes, shoulder to shoulder, as he both guided and swung the hammer! The memories are countless! Also, it must be noted, nothing brought light to Dales eyes like his grandchildren and great grandchildren!

Dale served well beyond his family. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War; receiving multiple commendations, including a silver star. In his communities for many years as a volunteer firefighter in Genesee, MI then in Astatula, FL, after retiring from CJ Rogers Construction Company in 1978 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Dale also served The Lord passionately, with his extensive knowledge of construction and building, on two Work and Witness mission trips to Belgium and Honduras. We can truly and proudly say, Dad never met a stranger, he made friends everywhere he went!

Dale’s legacy lives on through his 4 children: Alvin (Louise) Marshall, Debbie (Joe)Tucker, Rick (Cheryl) Marshall and Chuck (Susie) Marshall, 13 Grandchildren and 32 Great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by wife Eloise in 1995, and grandson Ricky in 1996.

Sincere thanks to the staff at Bella Vita Senior Living of Grand Blanc, and to the special people who served Dad at Mid-Michigan Hospice; Cindy, Kevin and Karen

These words from the final verse of the song "Come To Jesus" bring Dales family sweet peace, lasting comfort and incredible joy:

…And With Your Final Heartbeat, Kiss The World Goodbye

Then Go In Peace, And Laugh On Glory’s Side

And Fly To Jesus, Fly To Jesus, Fly To Jesus…and LIVE!
