Alma Self

SELF, Alma - Age 68, of Bancroft, died Friday, April 6, 2007. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, April 9, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rev. Louis Canaday will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Plains Cemetery, Byron. Visitation will be h eld 2-4 & 6-8 PM Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Alma was born January 18, 1939 in Harlan County, KY, the daughter of Lawrence and Dora (Brown) Cornett. She was married to Maynard L. Self on February 28, 1959 in Corunna; he preceded her in death on September 18, 1988. She is survived by: daughters, Debra Miller and husband Richard of Clio, Janet North and husband David of Owosso; son, Gregory Self and wife Shari of Bay City; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Miller, Ken, Sam and Levi North, Becca, Justen and Elbert Self; sister, Grace Sturgill of Flint; brother, Ewing Cornett and wife Edith of Cannon, KY. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Chester, Maurice and Melvin Cornett; sisters, Mildred Parsons and Mamie Cornett.
