Allen D. Murray

MURRAY, Allen D., age 65 of Fenton, died Saturday July 21, 2007 at Genesys Health Park.  Mr. Murray was born in Evansville, Indiana on August 21, 1941 the son of Marion D. and Eddie H. (Holcomb) Murray.  He graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Notre Dame and later graduated from Michigan State University with an MBA degree, but remained a loyal and avid fan of Notre Dame. He and Carmella Grecco were married in Bedford, Indiana on August 3, 1963. Mr. Murray started working for General Motors Financial Division in 1963 and worked his way through the financial department retiring from the Central Office in 1991 as a Financial Executive. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a member of the Izaac Walton League, Fenton Chapter, The Linden Sportsman's Club and past member of other civic organizations. Mr. Murray enjoyed fishing at his Grand Lake retreat "Cedarwood"  and the company of his dog "Doc", a therapy dog that he shared with others.  But most of all he was a loving and caring son, husband, father and grandfather.  Surviving is his wife Carmella; his two children, daughter Elizabeth Horton and husband Curtis of Fenton, son Thomas Edward Murray and wife Patricia of Harper Woods. There are 5 loving grandchildren;  Emily and Matthew Horton and Maya, Margaret and Owen Murray.  Also surviving is his mother, Eddie H. Murray of Fenton and a brother William Murray and wife Susan of Lake Orion, along with several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 600 N. Adelaide St.  Rev. Fr. David Harvey officiating. Services will conclude at the church.  The family will receive friends at the Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel 1000 Silver Lake Rd., from 4 to 9 P.M. Tuesday where a Vigil service will be prayed at 7:00P.M. Memorial contributions in his name may be offered to Mclaren Regional Medical Center Rehabilition Resolve Fund or to St. John's School.  Mr. Murray's family wishes to thank Dr. Eugene Chardoul, a special caring friend for all he has done for them.
