Fischhaber, Alice E. - Age 91, of Flushing, died February 25, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, March 10, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S. Ballenger Highway, Flint. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 2 - 4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, March 9 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 10 AM until the time of the funeral on Friday March 10 at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint.
Alice was born August 24, 1931 in Flint the daughter of Lewis and Clara (Popp) Bock. She attended Flint Northern High School. She married Paul Fischhaber on May 3, 1952; he preceded her in death June 30, 2012. Alice worked as a cook for the Flushing Community Schools for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint and was very involved in the Bible Study. She volunteered her time with the Stephen's Ministry helping the homebound, and Laborers for Christ restoring churches around the United States. Her and her husband visited 49 states and they were happily married for 60 years and spent most of their time together. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and reading. She loved to Square Dance, Golf, Water Aerobics, she was very skilled at Horseshoes and she was a pistol sharpshooter. Alice always had a smile on her face, and something nice to say. She always reached out with a helping hand..
Surviving are: four children, David (Kathleen) Fischhaber, Donald (Xochitl) Fischhaber, Debra (Jerry) Brandt, Douglas (Diana) Fischhaber; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; brother in law, Walter Fischhaber; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Fischhaber; son-in-law, Aaron Kagle; mother Clara Emerton; step-father, Angus Emerton; father Lewis Bock; father-in-law, Bernard Fischhaber; mother-in-law, Edna Fischhaber; brothers, William (Ruth) Bock, Robert (Shirley) Bock, Gordon (Alfrieda) Bock, Lester (Helen) Bock; sisters Lillian Haughn, Katherine (Quentin) Diaz, Marilyn Bock; brother-in-law Albert (Onnalee) Fischhaber; sister-in-law Helen (James) Collins; sisters-in-law Marlene Carter and Dee Fischhaber.
The family gives a special thank you to friends, Norma Walsh and Cindy Jones, for everything they did for Ms. Alice. The family expresses their appreciation to The Medical Team Hospice, especially Kouger, Ebon, Melinda, Kendall, Krista, Corey, and Janell.
