Alice Marie Brookins

BROOKINS, Alice Marie (Pobocik) - Age 62, of Flint, died Friday, January 6, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Rev. Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek from 5-9PM Sunday and 1-4 and 6-9PM Monday. A rosary will be held 6PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of ones choice or masses. Mrs. Brookins was born September 3, 1943 in Flint, the daughter of Steve and Helen (Ach) Pobocik and she had resided in the Flint area her entire life. She was a 1962 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and attended Flint Junior College (Mott Community College). She retired from Genesee County Mental Health Dept. after 16 years of service as an Administrative Assistant. Surviving are: 3 beloved sons, Damon Andrew Brookins of South Texas, Justin Charles Brookins and son, Zachary of Flint, Christopher and wife Laura Brookins of Edmond, OK; sister, Chris and husband Dave Swantek of Gaines; 2 brothers, John and wife Margaret Pobocik of Lennon and Steve and wife Julie Pobocik of Flushing; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Pobocik. Alice Marie will be dearly missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.
