Alice Bristle

BRISTLE, Alice Marie - age 69, of Gaines, died Sunday, September 10, 2017. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. The White Rose Ceremony: Celebration of Remembrance (by the Delta Kappa Gamma Society of key women educators) will be held 7:30 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home. Alice was born October 31, 1947 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Clarence and Inza (Hoffer) Bristle. She was a 1965 graduate of Dexter High School and earned her B.A. in Home Economics and M.A. in Education from Michigan State University. Alice lived in Gaines since 1972 and was a teacher at Lake Fenton Community Schools. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma - Mu Chapter, National Education Association (N.E.A.) and the Michigan Education Association (M.E.A.). Alice was the Michigan State Fair Hog Calling Champion. She enjoyed quilting and embroidery. Surviving are: two nephews, Joseph Dickson of Lansing and Lewis (Carrie) Dickson of Maplewood. MN; two nieces, Michelle Dickson of Ypsilanti and Donna Faust of Jackson; many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Dorothy Dickson; brother, Robert Bristle; and nephew, Donald Bristle.
