Alfred William POBOCIK

POBOCIK, Alfred William - Age 83, of Midland and Swartz Creek, died Monday, July 6, 2009 in Petoskey. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, July 10, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc with Fr. Kusitino Cobona. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp., where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Veteran's charity of your choice. Mr. Pobocik was born June 23, 1926 in Swartz Creek, the son of Andrew and Pauline (Kleinedner) Pobocik. He married Evelyn Akers on March 11, 1964. Mr. Pobocik was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Stanley Home Products in 1994. Surviving are: wife, Evelyn; six children, Jeanne (Tom) Rau, Cheryl Stovall, Teresa Stevenson, William (Theresa) Pobocik, Steve (Andrea) Pobocik, Anthony Pobocik; 10 grandchildren, Rob, Tim, Dan, Shannon, Andrew, Megan, Sara, Nicolle, Erik and Brent; sister, Pauline McGuire; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert (Bertha) Pobocik, Joseph (Dolores) Pobocik; many nieces and nephews.
