KENT, Alfred W. Al  Age 78, of Grand Blanc, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, North Palm Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, March 31, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-5 & 7-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Champions for Children Campaign at C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital, 1500 E. Medical Center Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Mr. Kent was born December 18, 1927 in Flint, the son of George and Mina (Bedell) Kent. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and Ferris State Pharmacy School. Mr. Kent was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, attaining the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He worked as Pharmacist and was a Corporate Officer of Cook Drug Company for many years. An avid golfer, he was a member of Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club and Hobe Sound Golf Club. He also loved fishing and was a passionate UofM Football fan. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Beverly; three sons, Rick of Grand Blanc, Randy and wife Ronnalee of Ann Arbor, Rob of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his two beloved grandchildren, Riley and Austin; sister, Marian Gamble of Fenton; niece, Carol Brockschmidt; nephew, Martin Gamble. He was preceded in death by his parents.
