Alexander Maul

MAUL, Alexander - Age 95, of Flint, died Friday, August 25, 2017. A funeral mass will be held 11AM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St. Flushing. Father Anthony Brooks officiating. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 1PM-3PM and 6PM-8PM on Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County or Elder Law of Michigan. Alex was born in Flint, the son of David and Rose (Ehrlich) Maul. He married Evelyn Ferrara October 24, 1942. In January 1943, Alex entered military service and was a WWII Army Air Corps Aviation Cadet. He honorably served his country until January 1946. Alex was self-employed most of his life. He was a landlord for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, dining out, and watching Jeopardy. Many years ago, he also enjoyed flying his Piper Tri-Pacer airplane. Surviving are children, Richard (Laurel) Maul of New York, Lorraine (William) Gerald of Swartz Creek, Douglas Maul of Grand Blanc, Carol (Dean) Hagler of Davison; grandchildren, Brian (Shelah) Maul, Michael Reno, Tara Maul (Matt Pascarella) and Michelle Reno; great-grandchildren Allison and Brady Reno; also expecting baby Evelyn Pascarella; brother Donald (JoAnn) Maul; sisters-in-law Betty Maul, Maxine Maul, Sadie Maul and Marge Maul. Alex was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Maul; his parents David and Rose Maul; sisters Bertha Falk and Rose Murphy; brothers David, Robert, Edward, Jacob, William, Herbert, Walter, and Richie Maul.
