WOODFIELD, Alexa Rose - age 17, of Flint Twp., died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, September 27, 2008 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth St., Flint with Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland and Msgr. Richard Groshek con-celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Thursday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A scripture service will be held 8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 9 AM until the time of mass Saturday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Children's Miracle Network. Alexa was born November 7, 1990 in Flint, the daughter of Craig and Laurie (Myers) Woodfield. She was a senior at Powers Catholic High School where she played volleyball and lacrosse and was active in the Spanish Club, Yellow Ribbon Club, S.A.D.D. and was faithfully involved in Kairos at Powers; Alexa was an outgoing loyal friend and daughter, always willing to help others. Her smile would light up any room. Left to cherish her memory are: parents, Craig and Laurie; devoted sister and best friend, Candice; grandparents, Don and Hope Myers, James and Sandra Hammersley; aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends, Jared, Rachel, Alexa, Jamie, Ciara, Hannah, Austin, Jason and many, many more. She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Sophie Myers, Roger and Carol Woodfield and great-grandmother, Mildred Woodfield.
