Alex Allen KIVESH

August 27, 1923 — March 4, 2012

KIVESH, Alex Allen, age 88, of Burton, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at home. Interment will be 12:00PM Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly with Military Honors rendered. In Lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Alex was born August 27, 1923 in Harco, Illinois the son of the late Alex and Margit (Fordor) Kivesh. He married Marguerite Jean Pullins in Angola, Indiana on July 18, 1953. Alex was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and again during the Korean War. He was employed by A.C. Spark Plug until retirement in 1980. Alex enjoyed fishing and sports, especially high school athletics. He was a loyal fan of his grandson's sporting events. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Jean; 3 daughters, Susan Mansfield (John) of Grand Blanc, Linda Miller (John) of Fenton, Peggy Burtrum (James) of Saginaw; 6 grandchildren, James Burtrum (Naomi)of Wakefield, John Burtrum (Laura) of Auburn, CA, Jaime Kaatz of Davison, Jeanne Newton (Ron) of Brighton, Jana Forgach (Scott) of Grand Blanc, Scott Miller (Tracy) of Freeland; 7 great-grandchildren, Haley Vest, Kasey Kaatz, Mackinzie Newton, Jarad and Joli Forgach, Evan and Rowan Miller; sister, Margaret Butenhoff (William) of Davison; niece, Sue Henry (Mark) of East Tawas.
