Alberta May BALLENTINE

BALLENTINE, Alberta May - Age 89, of Fenton, died May 19, 2011. Services will be held, 2:00 PM Sunday, May 22 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Pastor Zolton Sutto officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 1-8 PM. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday at the funeral Home held under of the auspices of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Alberta was born May 24, 1921 in Flint to Garnet and Natalie (Hill) Ford. In 1939 she graduated from Central High School. Alberta married Corwin (Corky) Ballentine on May 6, 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1993. They were lifelong residents of Burton. Alberta worked briefly for AC during WWII. She then raised her family while volunteering with American Red Cross, Carousel Club Crossroads Village, La Dias Clown Unit as "Bubbles" and a member of Elks, Ladies Does, Grand Blanc. Alberta was a lifetime member of Bentley Wesleyan Church in Burton. Alberta and Corky had two children, son, Gary and wife Shirley Ballentine of Highland and daughter, Susan and husband Michael Kruszka of Linden. She has five grandchildren; Katie Ballentine of Ypsilanti, Kelly and husband, Ben Gee of Highland, Emily Ballentine of Farmington Hills, Tim and wife, Denelle Kruszka of Linden and Sara Kruszka and partner, Jenna Reulbach of Arvada, CO., and six great grandchildren; Kalyn, Natalie, Andriana, Kruz, Quinn and Johnathan; her friend, Phoebe Ballentine of Byron; many nieces and nephews. Alberta enjoyed swimming and boating and especially time spent on the 28' sailboat that Corky built! Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Shirley Ford.
