CONFER, Albert A.'Zeb' Â Age 71, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek, with Rev. Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday and Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A rosary will be prayed 6 PM Monday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Mr. Confer was born March 13, 1934 in Flint, the son of Alvin and Lillian (Wiley) Confer. He married Constance Bunitski on November 28, 1953. Mr. Confer retired from General Motors Flint Metal Fab in 1996 after 43 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and hunting for many years. Mr. Confer was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, the Swartz Creek Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Albert always gave a hug, even to strangers. Surviving are: wife, Constance of Swartz Creek; two daughters, Therese and husband, Glen Credeur of New Orleans, LA, Helene and husband, Greg Lay of Swartz Creek; son, David Confer and wife, Jayanna of Flint; eight grandchildren, Glenda, Stephanie, Jacob, Daniel, Megan, Andrew, Matthew, David II; sister-in-law, Bernice Bolanowski; special friends, Wayne and Judy Sutter, Marion Davies; half-brother, Larry Confer; nieces and nephews.
