MICHAEL, Alan David - Age 73, of Swartz Creek died Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Memorial service will be held 2PM Saturday, March 7 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 711 S. Saginaw St., Flint. Visitation will be 1:30 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests those desiring make donations to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Alan was born June 22 in Denver, CO, the son of Harry A. and Frances A. (Webb) Michael. He married Mary Lee Ashe March 1, 1958. Alan retired from Buick Motor Division after 38 years service. After retirement he worked as the Animal Welfare Officer, "AKA, Pet Detective" for the Humane Society of Genesee County. Alan was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for 65 years where he served on the Vestry and was a trustee on the board of the Whaley Children's Center. He also served on the Board of Education for Mt. Morris Community Schools. Surviving are: wife, Mary Lee; 4 children, Catherine and husband Richard Bills of Flushing, David Michael of Porter Ranch, CA, Diane and husband Brian Jennings of Orange, CA. Jane and husband Timothy Germaine of Irvine CA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bills) Kuslansky and husband Derek, Brian Bills, Michael, Timothy and Shannon Jennings, Wyatt and Cole Germaine, and great grandsons, Edwin and Marshall Kuslansky. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Terry.
