Alan Burdick

BURDICK, Alan Max - age 85, of Fenton, died April 27, 2020. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Fenton United Methodist Church. Alan was born December 12, 1934 in Fenton, the son of Max Wesley and Ruth Ellen (Neely) Burdick. He was a 1953 graduate of Fenton High School and a graduate of General Motors Institute. Alan retired from General Motors as a Director of Purchasing having worked at AC Spark Plug, Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac. He was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church. Alan was well known for his woodworking, making stained glass and growing orchids. He was a devoted family man and great supporter of his children's sports and activities when they were young and continued that support with his grandchildren. Surviving are: three children, Scott Burdick and wife, Karen of Traverse City, Susan and husband, Jimmy Cottingham of Atoka, TN, and Stacey and husband, Matt Peacock of DeWitt; six grandchildren, Eric Burdick, Kevin (Brittany) Burdick, Jenna (Chandler) Wilson, Sydney Cottingham, Katelyn Peacock and Rebecca Peacock; great-grandson, John Burdick; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Patterson) Burdick on October 25, 2000. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
