(Pemberton) Langdon. She married Ralph E. Jennings on August 17, 1935 in Flint; he preceded her in death August 8, 1996. Mom will be greatly missed by her three children, Nancy Bell and Phyllis (Neil) O'Brien, both of Swartz Creek, Roger (Judy) Jennings of Crossville, TN. Mom has 14 loving grandchildren, Karen Terry, Ralph Bell, John Bell, Mary Carr, Eddy Bell, Colleen Wisniewski, Patricia Chen, Mark O'Brien, David O'Brien, Karla Siebert, Maureen Steffen, Molly O'Brien, Renee Jennings and Kevin Jennings. Her 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren will remember her warm embrace. 'We are all thankful we had the chance to grow up with Grandma J.' Mom is also survived by a sister, Virginia (Howard) Dow of Pontiac; brother-in-law Roy Bemis of Flint Township; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom graduated from Clio High School in June 1931 as one of five honor students in a class of thirty-eight. She graduated from Genesee County Normal School in Flint in 1932 and taught grades 1-8 at the Naismith Country School near Montrose. Mom and Dad raised three children on the Crapo Farm in Swartz Creek. Mom worked for many years as Ward Clerk in Central Supply at McLaren Hospital in Flint. She was a poet, writing most of her poems in the early 40's. God gave her the talent of remembering her poems and she could recite them from memory until very recently. Mom kept a daily diary since 1977. She wrote to someone every day. Mom always said a prayer before each meal. In the past two years she added 'God Bless America and Guide Us All.' Mom and Dad were good people, always making do with what we had. They never had an enemy, but always a smile for everyone. Mom enjoyed attending the Bingham School Reunions. Our family enjoyed her little 'quips' such as 'Oodie Doodie!' and 'Beautiful Day!' Even enduring horrific pain, she wanted to know 'What's the temp' She has been an inspiration to her family. Her faith in God has never been unshaken and Mom was always upbeat. A special Thank You to her faithful caregiver Barbara Hart, to Genesys Hospice and to Pat Dunnigan. 'Life Is For The Living.' 'Beautiful Day!' Friends may share their online condolences for the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
