Agnes Carroll

Agnes Anne (Ruhala) Carroll, age 90 passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation for Agnes will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 2:00PM - 9:00PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek the Vigil Service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth Ave. in Flint at 9:00AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00AM on Friday, September 30, 2022. Internment at New Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Bill Wegher officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to McLaren Hospice, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Catholic Charities.

Agnes was born in Flint, MI on June 1,1932 to Joseph and Agnes (Marzonie) Ruhala. She graduated from Flint Northern and attended Mott College then married her high school sweetheart, Richard “Fred” Carroll on November 15,1952 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Flint. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before he passed in 2013.  They were blessed with 9 children.  Her life was devoted to her husband, her children and providing them a loving home.  Her life was filled with faith, family and love.  She always had an open door for friends old and new.  She loved angels, laughter, golf,her Chenin Blanc and people. She loved gatherings and was most often, to Fred’s chagrin, the last to leave.  Her joy of being with loved ones, providing comfort and laughter will always stay in our hearts.

She is survived by her 9 children, Michael, Maureen, Matthew (Lisa), Mark (Dawn), Mitchell (Shelley), Colleen, Kathleen Tenney (Joel), Kelly Jensen (Bill) and Karen Somers (Mike). She leaves her beloved grandchildren: Curran and Barb Lynch, Laura and Daniel Dodd, Ruthie Cervantes, Meaghan and Luke Miller, Erin and Jonah Routowicz, Katy Carroll, Haley and Kevin Valenti, Justin Carroll, Kristie Carroll, Tyler Carroll, Max Carroll, Emily Carroll, Sean Tenney, Andrea Tenney, Jacob Jensen, Taylor and Porter Brown, Ellie Jensen, Nicholas and Renee Somers, Matt Somers, Jack Somers and Jenna Somers.  She also leaves behind 9 great grandchildren and one on the way, beloved sister Betsy Malenich, many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors. Special thanks to Jaina, her hospice nurse and special helpers Lynn Jelenski and Lisa McNally her special helper.
