Ada Austin

AUSTIN, Ada May - Age 88, of Corunna formerly of Swartz Creek, died Friday, December 26, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. David Collins officiating. Burial in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield Township. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek Senior Center. Mrs. Austin was born October 4, 1926 in Owosso the daughter of Howard Lewis and Nancy Evelyn (Arnold) Slocum. She married Irving C. Austin July 18, 1948 in Burton Corners and he preceded her in death April 22, 1997. She had resided in Corunna for the past year coming from Swartz Creek. She was a member of the Genesee Federation of the Blind. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Ada's caregivers, who provided her with loving and compassionate care. Surviving are: son, Dan George and wife Sue Austin of Holliston, MA; daughter, Laura Sue and husband John Elliott of Corunna; grandson, Timothy John Austin; daughter-in-law, Pam Austin of Bancroft; and several cousins.
