Embury, Abbey Austin- Age 76, of Deerfield Township, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Genesys Health Park, Grand Blanc. Â Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, September 19, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Â Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Â Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-9PM Wednesday and 1-9PM Thursday. Â Those desiring may make contributions to the Linden Lions Club, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Linden or Argentine United Methodist Church. Â Mr. Embury was born June 8, 1927 in Deerfield Township, where he had resided his entire life, the son of Clifford and Verda (Abbey) Embury. Â He retired in 1993 from the U.S. Postal Service, Fenton office with 39 years of service as a rural carrier. He was a member of the Linden Lions Club and Genesee Valley 2 Cylinder Club. Â He was an avid gardener and enjoyed baseball and hockey. Â Surviving are: mother, Verda Embury; 4 children, Dan and wife Marta Embury of Davison, Tim Embury of Morrice, Kimberly and husband Terry Bishop of Killeen, TX, Eric Embury and fiancee Andrea of Corunna; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas, Bryan, Bethany, Tim, Hope, Elizabeth, Joseph; nieces and nephews; former wife and his children's mother, Shirley Embury.
