HARMON, William M. "Bill" - Age 92, of Swartz Creek, passed away December 7, 2021. Memorial Service, Tuesday, December 14 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1216 Bristol Rd., Flint. Visitation from 1-2, Service at 2 with dinner following. All are welcome. Pastor Stephen Anthony Officiating. Bill’s Committal Service at Great Lakes National Cemetery will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Carriage Town Ministries.
Bill was born June 28, 1929 in Bernie, MO. the son of Cleo and Edith (Ramsey) Harmon. He married Ann E. Terhune in Flint on October 17, 1953. (Ann was the love of his life!) Bill graduated from Flint Central High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and wore his KW Veterans hat with much pride. Bill was employed as an Installer and PBX Repairman with Michigan Bell/AT&T until he retired at the age of 56. He was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene where he served his Wonderful Savior in many ways, always encouraging and giving his sweet smile to anyone he interacted with. He was a 2x cancer survivor who loved life itself! He was an avid golfer (who had 2 holes in one) and thoroughly enjoyed card games (which he would almost always win) and sharing time with his family and friends. Bill was a very devoted husband and father who loved his “Harmon Girls” and his grandchildren. He was proud to call them his!
Bill is survived by: his wife Ann; 4 daughters- Cheryl Major, Vicky (Larry) Wright, Lora (Hugh) Willman, Carol (Michael) Foos; grandchildren- Kassandra (Terry) Lewis, Karen Knisley, Jeremy (Hillary) Wright, Jonathan Wright, Jacob (Kyla) Wright, Jared (Lindsey) Willman, James Grohoski III, William Grohoski, Anna (Mike) Vallentine, Haley (Noble) Baird; 7 great grandchildren- Chloe Garfield, Eleanor and Oliver Wright, Levi, Jace, and Stella Willman, and Archer Baird; also sister in law, Virginia Harmon.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Dorothy Beckman, and Helen Botsch; brother, Robert (Bob) Harmon; son in law, Tim Major; grandson in law, Ty Knisley.
