BOLANDER, Ted Allan - Age 75, Flushing, died Tuesday April 27, 2021.Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial in Elliston Cemetery, Benton Twp., Ohio. Ted was born October 24, 1945 in Toledo OH, the son of Henry Lee and Fay Ann (Schwamberger) Bolander. He married Sharon Miller in Elliston Ohio on May 27, 1967. Ted graduated from Harris-Elmore High School in 1963. He attended Bowling Green State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1967 and earned from
the University of Michigan in 1972 a Master of Science in Instructional Media. Ted was active in the Cat Fancy and a founding member of Mid-Michigan Cat Fanciers until beginning a competitive roller skating career with his wife and daughter from 1979-1992. He competed in figures and, also, in dance with his wife Sharon. Mr. Bolander worked for Carman-Ainsworth Schools from 1967 until his retirement in 2006, the first 18 years as a classroom teacher at Woodland Elementary and ending as a media specialist at Carman-Ainsworth Middle School. In 1992, he began cruising many areas around the world with Sharon both by ocean and river. Ted was a member of Woodside Church for 51 years. Surviving are: wife of 53 years, Sharon Bolander of Flushing; daughter, Adriana (Joe) Ranta of Mason; granddaughter, Chloey Ranta of Mason; brother, Sam (Carol) Bolander of OH; mother, Fay Bolander of OH; several nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Bolander. Memorials may be given in Ted's honor to Woodside Church, PO Box 1109, 503 Garland Street, Flint, MI 48501.
