RINGLER, Robert George - Age 84, of Linden, passed away August 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, August 26, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, with Pastor Todd Biermann officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday, with a Masonic Memorial and Shriner's Service at 6:30PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
Robert was born on December 8 to Anna (Bokshorn) and John Ringler in Flint. After graduating from Flint Northern High School in 1956 he went to Flint Junior College where he focused on Accounting and received an Associates in Business. He married Marilyn Ann Towns on October 10, 1959 and they had a daughter, Andrea and a son, Christopher. His education would continue at the University of Michigan where his focus on math and Accounting led him to receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. After graduation he pursued accounting as a career and took a job with Conlen and Darnton as an accountant in 1965. He became a Certified Public Accountant in October of 1969 and joined the staff of Yeo & Yeo Certified Public Accountants in early 1973, where he eventually became partner in 1974 and oversaw their Flint office until his retirement in 1999.
Robert had a strong work ethic and believed in giving back to his community. He made time to join the Optimists Club, was a past President of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, and was an active member of Genesee Lodge #174 F.& A.M, Elf Khurafeh Shrine. Robert also served on the McLaren Hospital Financial Committee until his passing. Robert worked long hours and well past when many may have retired to make sure that his family was taken care of and provided for in the years to come. After retirement, Robert spent his time with family, working in his yard, teaching himself woodworking, and watching University of Michigan football. In the last two years he became a doting grandfather to Lily, who he adored.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Anna; brothers, Edward and John; sister, Mary and his wife, Marilyn. He is survived by his sisters, Donna Storms, Helen Pickard; daughter, Andrea Ringler (Mark McCarthy); son, Christopher and daughter-in-law, Amanda; granddaughter, Lily.
