Kenneth Voakes

VOAKES, Kenneth Leroy - Age 64, of Comstock Park formerly of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, November 14, 2021. A service will be held 12:30 PM Monday, December 6, 2021at Sharp Funeral Homes; Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service will be available on Ken's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor James Nelson officiating. Burial immediately following at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 4-8 PM Sunday and Monday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. Ken was born December 13, 1956 in Flint, the son of Kenneth Leroy Voakes, Sr. and Sally Oakley. He was a 1974 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Ken married Tonya Ann Costello July 13, 2013 in Grand Blanc.

Surviving are: his wife, Tonya; children, Mynette Voakes of Nashville, TN, August (Ashley) Voakes of Mt. Morris, Matthew Duncan of Grand Rapids, and Shayna (Ian) Guiles of Greenville; grandchildren, Adalyn, Xavier, Lileigh, Serenity, and Owen; mother, Sally Voakes of Naperville, IL; siblings, Joyce (Clair) Samuelson of Flint, Joseph (Karen) Voakes of Naperville, IL, and James (Andrea) Voakes of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Leroy Voakes, Sr.and brother, William "Billy" Voakes. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
