ALLEN, James Edward - age 77 of Fenton, died January 30, 2023. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S Leroy St, Fenton, MI 48430 with Pastor Jeff Jaggers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM - 1 PM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org). Jim was born August 2m 1945 in Owosso, MI, the son of John and Mary Ellen (King) Allen. He was a graduate of St. Paul Catholic School in Owosso and Western Michigan University. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Medic in the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart award and a Bronze Star. He married Susan Gillespie on July 23, 1976. Jim retired from the medical sales industry in 2008. He was an avid golfer and was Spring Meadows Country Club Champion as well as many other tournaments. Jim loved the History Channel and Animal Planet. He was well known in Fenton for taking his dog Bella everywhere he went. Surviving are: wife, Susan; three children, Gregory L. Allen, Michael P. Allen, and Jennifer E. (Ryan) O'Roark; four grandchildren, Connor and Aiden O'Roark, Ashley Rynd, and Matthew Allen; two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Oliver; sister, Marcia Allen; and many life-long friends.
