OSBORN, David N. - Age 69, of Fenton, died July 17, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, July 22, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, with a vigil service at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to City of Fenton Sculpture Fund. David was born January 9, 1950 in Detroit, the son of Robert and Elaine (Carpenter) Osborn. He was a graduate of Livonia Bentley High School, earned a BA from Suffolk University in Boston, and a Masters Degree from LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin. He had resided in Fenton the past 25 years, coming from Lansing. David had been employed by the Michigan Municipal League as a Lobbyist and Associate Director, Michigan Association of Mayors, Sharp Funeral Homes and Home Depot. David served as the Chair for Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation and was Police Commissioner for the City of Lansing for 9 years. He was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Reader; he taught REP classes and assisted with Baptisms. He was also active in Big Brothers and Big Sisters and was a member of Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his wife, Sue; step-sons, Chris Suszek and Curt Suszek; granddaughter, Payton Suszek; grandson, Ryan Hugan; brother, Jim (Carolyn) Osborn; sister, Patt (Bill) Tatarski; step-mother, Sharon Osborn; step-sisters, Lisa and Sharon Jr.; his "Little Brother", Kenny McElroy.
