Dana was born July 22, 1948 in Flint, the son of William Darwin and Cornelia Mae (King) Baldwin. He spent his whole childhood growing up in Burton, MI where he graduated from Bendle High School in 1966, after which he started working at General Motors in August of that year. He was drafted and served in the US Army from 1968-1970 where he drove tanks. He then earned a Bachelors Degree from Ferris State University in television production, while being a full-time single parent to his daughter Amy. Once he graduated, he returned to GM. Dana retired from General Motors in 2013 after working over 43 years. His daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who affectionately called him Big Papa) were his world. He was always there for everyone and anyone, and had the biggest heart. He made sure they all experienced a variety of things in life, like regular trips to the movies, monster truck shows, Disney, and seeing all over the Western United States, taking multiple trips for the different generations. He was the glue that held everyone together and as one grandkid said, the G.O.A.T. He will be sorely missed, but fondly remembered.
He is survived by two daughters Amy (Kirk) Weber, Keisha (Dimas) Hernandez; daughter-of-the-heart Katrina Baldwin; grandchildren Christopher, Kyler, Dominic, Felicity, Treshon, Elijah, Nevaeh, and K'Andre; Great-grandchildren Nicole, Carson, Noah, Nico, and Dimitri; Brothers Bruce, Paul (Betty), Blake, and Jeff; Sisters Kristina (Cary) Williams and Diane Baldwin; Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Nicholas, his parents, daughter of the heart Ebonie Baldwin, brothers Dennis and Matt, and former wife and special friend, Deborah Baldwin.
